Milwaukee Slackline Collective - Wi slack together.

Group Description

This group is meant for anyone interested in working on improving their slackline skills. Whether you have own a slackline or or not, this is the supportive group for you.

By bringing all of our skills and materials together, we can not only become better slackers, but better teachers as well. Slacklining can be thrilling and meditative, while also forcing you to stretch and build strength at the same time. If you have never gotten up before, come knowing that it may take a whole session just to take a few steps, but your muscle memory will improve with each session that you attend.

**If you are bringing your own line, please be sure to bring tree protection (blankets/tapestries/long carpet pads), as we want to protect both our lines and the trees we use. Don't forget some water for yourself as well.**

Families are welcome to attend - parents must be present for anyone interested in participating under the age of 18.

As of right now the I would like to consider meeting Thursday's around 4:30 just north of Colectivo by the lake (1889 N Lincoln Memorial Dr. Milwaukee, WI 53202) lake. Should we get a good sized group going before June, we can even consider playing glow stick/light up ultimate Frisbee afterwards. Please watch a few slacklining videos to familiarize yourself prior to your first visit, and contact me with any questions.

My ultimate goals with the group:

1) Find a good place to slack over water

2) Meet up mid way with the Chicago Slackline Association

3) Get some harnesses and work on highlining by the end of Summer

4) Expand to multiple parks, meeting days, with multiple organizers.

5) Have custom branding created so that we can print gear.
